Made by hand with recycled magazine paper at a women’s art collective in Uganda.
Beads are fully biodegradable and water resistant.
In addition to having a financial impact on a community far away from the Crescent City, these paper beads aim to broaden the appeal of unique, handmade and environmentally sensitive Mardi Gras throws. The artisans who produce these are offered a fair wage that is well above what they would normally make, leading to an improvement in not only their lives, but the lives of their children and families.
